Rolled cargo is cargo that couldn’t be loaded because the ship was full.
Rolled cargo is cargo that was intended to be loaded onto a ship but was unable to do so because the ship was at capacity. Similar to how passenger airlines overbook seats, carriers overbook slots on vessels, causing them to reach capacity.
The cargo will probably be rolled by the carrier onto the following vessel, but this is not guaranteed. When necessary, your Forceget team will modify the schedule of your shipment and keep you informed about the progress of your cargo through the app.
You can’t prevent your cargo being rolled, but you can lessen the chance of it happening by requesting quotes and booking shipments at least two weeks in advance of the cargo ready date. Cargo is most likely to be rolled when space on vessels is tight. Space is especially tight during peak season and during the weeks leading up to Golden Week and Chinese New Year. You can keep track of vessel capacity the rest of the year with Forceget’s weekly market updates. Overweight containers are also often the first to be rolled.
