If the trucker does not bring pallets to exchange when they pick up the cargo, a pallet exchange fee is assessed.
If the trucker does not provide pallets to exchange with the carrier’s pallets when they pick up the goods, the carrier will levy a pallet exchange fee.
Cargo is typically palletized for air and LCL shipments (if not at origin, then at destination). Pallets make the goods easier to handle and store.
The driver will need to provide pallets to exchange while picking up the goods if the airline or warehouse palletized the shipment. There will be a Pallet Exchange Fee that we pay to the carrier in exchange for “holding” their pallets if they don’t bring any pallets to exchange.
The Pallet Exchange Fee is determined by the carrier and is assessed per pallet.
A Pallet Exchange Fee, if applicable, will appear on your billing as a Destination Charge.
