ISPS Code (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code)
The International Maritime Organization (IMO), as part of the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention, implemented the ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code) as a security measure in reaction to the 9/11 attacks.
Governments, shipping firms, shipping personnel, and port/facility staff are given responsibilities under ISPS to identify security threats and take preventative action against such threats that could impact ships or ports used in international trade.
The entire package of measures increasing worldwide security of ships and port infrastructure is paid for by an ISPS fee. The freight prices for Forceget include this surcharge.
