FCA (Free Carrier)
An INCOTERM that can be used for maritime shipping in containers is FCA.
According to the 2010 Incoterms®, FCA (Free Carrier) is an incoterm that requires the seller to clear the products for export and to either deliver the goods to the buyer at the seller’s premises or at a different stated location. The point at which the seller is delivering the goods to the buyer must be identified when using the FCA incoterm, for example, “FCA, Name of Origin CFS.”
LCL (Less than Container Load), FCL, and air transportation can all be done with FCA.
The expense and risk of loading the cargo onto the buyer’s provided transportation fall on the seller if the seller is delivering the products to the buyer at the seller’s premises.
